Drinking Water Safety Plans

"A Water Safety Plan (WSP) is the most effective way of ensuring that a water supply is safe for human consumption and that it meets the health based standards and other regulatory requirements. It is based on a comprehensive risk assessment and risk management approach to all the steps in a water supply chain from catchment to consumer."
- UK Drinking Water Inspectorate

Our DWSP application was produced to assist water companies in demonstrating their diligent management of water safety plans.  The process consists of:

  • System assessments - a single large water company will be responsible for the management of thousands of such assessments.
  • Monitoring data - hundreds of thousands of chemical analysis outputs from across the network are required to determine where risks lie, to enable trend analysis and to assess the potential impact of any risks.
  • Management plans - Information relating to planned or actual mitigations in respect of assessed risks.

The application maintains all of this information, facilitating the marshalling of very large amounts of raw information into succinct and manageable regionally-based assessments and plans.

DWSP is a stand-alone application, but can be interfaced to the Investment Manager application in order to enable the migration of assessed DWSP issues to the overall investment planning process.  Investment Needs are created within Investment Manager corresponding to the migrated DWSP issues.
